Hydrostatic Testing
Matrix owns and operates the largest hydrostatic testing facility in the Asia Pacific region capable of pressure testing to 10000PSI or 6000msw. The chamber is capable of full scale testing of Riser Buoyancy to 5000PSI or 3000msw. This chamber is fully instrumented with 1524mm internal diameter and 6500mm long.
Displacement Testing
If required, each buoyancy module type is tested in the company's displacement tank to confirm that the theoretical target buoyancy has been achieved. Alternatively, the module can be laser scanned to build an accurate 3D displacement model which is more accurate. Matrix can employ the latest scanning & inspection techniques to produce a 3D CAD Model.
Mechanical Testing
FAT mechanical testing is an integral part of almost every product design, custom or standards. This may include integration testing of risers, load testing of buoyancy through members or destructive testing of bend restrictors. A wide variety of test rigs are available for this purpose.
Materials Testing
Matrix uses in house and third party facilities to pre-qualify or type test materials. Mechanical, creep, weathering, disbondment and corrosion properties are routinely tested.
Function and Fit-up Testing
Matrix has invested in risers that enable a mock up of a drilling riser to be assembled for the purposes of a fit up test in the pre-production phase. Mock clamps, kill and choke, hydraulic and booster lines are manufactured and assembled onto the riser according to the PCD of OD's of the lines.
